Comfortable, waterproof and very high-vis!
Things I like about it:
- Comfort - Wrist cuffs are very soft and comfortable, and nothing scratchy on the neck or chin. Sleeves are just the right length, and the longer length at the back ensures nothing gets on your jersey in a riding position. Super lightweight, and easy to forget you're wearing it.
- Visibility - Excellent bright orange, with a reflective patch on the left sleeve.
- Weatherproofing - Does exactly what it says, no rain entry whatsoever despite heavy downfalls on commutes home, and can see water droplets beading off. Absolutely no wind-chill either.
- Breathability - I tend to run pretty hot, but I haven't been sweaty in this one. Only area that gets a bit damp from sweat is my lower arms near the wrist, most likely due to the smaller air volume.
Things I didn't like:
- None!

So far so good.
I've worn this a handful of times, in light mist to steady rain lasting over an hour. It seems to do its job. It packs down nicely into a rear pocket. I find the zipper a bit tricky near the top, with the inner storm flap getting caught quite often, hence the 4 stars. Time will tell how well the water repellent finish holds up.

Color is great, the rest is not
Ive read reviews before purchasing that stated fabric doesn't breath at all.
I thought ok it should be only as rain protection, short times of wear etc.
Cuffs are so tight!! Its a struggle to wear and no way I'd risk taking it off while riding.
Armpits are tight as well, making it uncomfortable to wear above jersey of same size.
I'm 1.82cm 75kg, wear M in all ranges and usually it fits perfectly.
As for fabric, it has plastic feeling, like something fake gore-tex from china.
Really cheap.
I think it's last time I order core collection.

Great jacket but pricy vs the competition.
I am 6'0" and 74 kg and the medium fits well. It is snug around the shoulders and long in the arms which is good for reaching the bars. Highly visible on the roads but it does collect a lot of moisture on the inside even when not raining. I like the jacket a lot but it is very expensive compared with other brands.

219 km in torrential, nonstop downpour: Perfection
I have a non-Rapha, shakedry Gore-tex cycling jacket. The shake dry fabric is fantastic, even if you have to be careful because it's so paper thin that it has literally no-abrasion resistance whatsoever and its workability for things like elastic in the cuffs remains elusive. But my biggest issue with shake dry, really my only issue, is visibility. Enter the Rapha Core Rain Jacket (my model is II) in hi-vis orange. First, the hi-vis orange is not obnoxious, neon, nor fluorescent. It's hi vis but in a Rapha-classic way. It looks good on a bike rider. The lines are clean, as you have come to expect with Rapha and the euro-fit is great (I'm big--200 lbs), so a XXL is necessary for me but neither baggy nor too tight. But the real question is, is it a decent raincoat in real rain, and does it hold up in soaking conditions without turning into a sauna suit? My report it this: 22 September, Le P'tit Train du Nord (in the Laurentians, northwest of Montreal), 17.2 C', complete and total downpour all day, 219 km (Mt. Tremblant to Mt. Laurier and back). Core bib shorts, Core short sleeve Jersey, Craft undershirt, a nice pair of lightweight old Trek branded rain gloves, Rapha socks, and the Core Rain Jacket II. Socks and shoes soaked beyond compare, seat pack wet through the waterproof zipper. Headlight ran out of juice with 2k to go. Rain gloves and bar tape complete sponges. Audible sandy grit in the cassette. Chafing under my bib shorts in places I didn't know could get chafed road riding. Under my Core Rain Jacket? Dry, comfortable, clean, warm, but perfectly so--not hot in the least, but not chilled from the day-long wet. I have never ridden for longer in worse rain conditions in my life. I will never head out into potential rainy or serious rainy conditions without this in my jersey pocket again. We'll see about durability, but the Core Rain Jacket I that I replaced with this one so I could get the hi-vis color is still holding up four years later. This is a look-no-further kind of thing.

Good jacket, poor packaging
The rain jacket is a well made and lightweight top. It doesn't have a pocket, which would be nice to have, but that apart, it does the job well. I've just used it so far as a winter windbreaker, but it folds up very small and would serve equally well as an extra layer or as a rain stopper. The cuffs are
elasticated, so there's nothing flapping about. My only complaint is the packaging which was a tightly wrapped plastic bundle. If you buy this and this is how it arrives, be very careful how you open it, unless Rapha have changed it to something more sensible.

Love the cut. The design. The waterproofyness.
Love the cut. The design. The waterproofyness — however this is not a high performance membrane — so it's not at all breathable... and that's possibly reflected in the price... so it will keep the rain out. It'll also keep the sweat in.

Core Rain Jacket - Recommended
Really nice lightweight waterproof jacket with good cuffs, easy to use zip and good sizing for close fitting on the road bike - I'm 6'1" slim build and medium fits just fine. One issue I have with it is the need to for a longer tail at the back. If you carry anything in your back pockets of a jersey then the jacket rides up and exposes lower back area to the rain. Overall I"d recommend this jacket and would buy it again without hesitation.

Classic rapha style and fit.
Classic rapha style, and perfect fit! Keeps out rain really well but could use a little more venting. Don’t take this out on a mild day, you’ll want more venting. I’ve been using it on cold breezy mornings and cold rainy days.

Core Rain Jacket II
Fit size is good. Looks good BUT is totally NOT breathable. I was wetter on the inside after a downpour. The jacket dried on the outside and I remained soaked. Would have been better off without the jacket. Arm holes are a joke to aid breathability. More like a bored factory worker found a hole punch, pointless. Probably ok if you are cycling sub 5km/h but at any pace in the rain you will be as wet on the inside as you are on the outside.

Excellent windbreaker, and not too sweaty.
Rode 30km flat in 13c sunshine with two short sleeve jerseys and arm warmers underneath, no sweat. Remove jacket if climbing though. I wear small jerseys but bought medium core rain jacket for extra room and air.

Great rain/allround jacket
I was looking for a relatively simple rain jacket for everyday biking to and from work. After a considerable amount of surfing the web, I whittled the list down to a couple of alternatives. I chose the Rapha due to price, color and overall sleek look. I'm very pleased with it's performance and fit so far after just over a month of use. Sure, I'd like at least one pocket and thumb hole cuffs, but I'd absolutely buy it again.

Yep as advertised
Does the good. Thermal regulation is what you would expect with a rain jacket; you get hot. Can be used as a wind jacket as well in the fall, spring, winter, but the pro team light wind jacket with the perforated back is a better choice for temperature regulation. It’s a solid rain jacket that can be used for other sports as well. Nicely packs into rear pockets on a jersey. Perfect fit on a 41-42in chest in size large.

Good rain jacket
Good rain jacket. Keeps you dry and has a good fit. However you get quite sweaty under it as like with many rain jackets, breathability is mediocre.

Light weight and keeps you dry when needed
Similar to other reviewers experience. This does the job of keeping the rain off and keeping dry in less favourable conditions. The only thing I would say is that it is less breathable when it's warm and raining. At this price point I think it is fair to expect that. Over all for me it has provided exactly what I want. A light jacket tucked away in my jersey for the ever changeable conditions faced in the UK.

Great fit and waterproof
Had been using a semi waterproof wind jacket which coped ok in light rain . The weather has been so wet recently I've been wet right down to my base layers on a few rides . The core rain jacket has proved to be totally waterproof with a great fit , plenty of arm length and loose enough to fit over other layers comfortably and is now one of my favourite Rapha items of clothing .

No more flapping
I should have bought this earlier. My previous jacket packed super small but would slow me down to a halt with all the flapping that was going on. I never consider this jacket before because I figured it would be too hard to pack. It's a bit bigger than my last jacket but it does fit in a jersey pocket when needed. But best of all it is dead silent on even the fastest descents

Nice Kit for Wet Showery Days
Excellent all around rain jacket. I wear a Mens L in most every Rapha top and this falls right in line size wise. While I wouldn't want to be out in a major rain storm as this will eventually soak through, I'm not a regular rainy rider so I don't feel the need to invest in pricier Gortex rain gear. This does the job and is perfect for wet, windy and showery days.

Excellent Lightweight Rain Cover
I cannot recommend this jacket highly enough, every part works like a dream, the one issue I read about was the air holes not being enough under the sleeves - I am maybe a bit thinner than the other reviewer and had no problems overheating at all in continuous hours long rain, I just have to practise getting it on and off on the move (my fault, not the jackets).
If I were younger, I might even say the style of this would look good off the bike, it's as close to a Lite-Harrington as you'd get, I might wear it when the pubs reopen.

This Jacket does Everything
Fantastic rain layer or shell for cold weather. I wear this in 60s and rain (with just a jersey) all the way down to 20's and dry (jersey + arm warmers + mid layer). I'm 6'3", 200lb and the large is a perfect race fit. I can accommodate two layers with a snug fit. Sleeves fit beautifully despite my monkey arms. Great ultra light rain/wind jacket.

Ideal for cold and windy days
I used the core rain jacket on cold and windy winter days to complete the Rapha 500 challenge. It was the fourth layer and I flet really comfortable to ride for 130 to 140 km without removing it. I did not feel like I was getting too sweaty. The elastics at the wrist are great to fit under the gloves. A very nice addition to my cycling kits.

Good but not perfect
Excellent water repellency even in two hours of steady rain but breathability is quite limited, especially if you are a heavy sweater.
Light and easily able to be stuffed in a jersey pocket.
Cut is on the generous side and there was a bit of mild flapping at the shoulders. This would vary with every wearer, though.
Overall, given you’re buying the bottom tier of Rapha rain jacket, you’ll never gat one that ticks all boxes. I think the performance is impressive given the price, even better if you can get it on sale.

Size L, Core II Rain jacket, road bike use.
Not yet rain tested. Very packable and light. Good wind protection and comfortable fit (5’11”, 170lbs). LA weather tested 55-65F. Gets a bit sweaty above 60F with l/s jersey and base. But then I just take it off. Got it on sale. Recommend.

Rain jacket
This jacket really works well in the rain keeping everything dry, folds down nicely to pack away into a jersey rear pocket, sizing is spot on size large 79kg and 5’ 9’’ and fits nice and snug without being to restrictive.

Great tool to have
This is a great piece of kit to have. It can be layered on top of a long sleeve for cooler rides or stashed in a jersey pocket for longer rides where rain is a threat. I am 6’4 200lbs and I went with the XL in blue.

Stylish but no performing
it looks great, beautiful colour and style. It was a great appeal on me but this garment, as all of Core collection, is not recommended for who wants ride fast, with an average speed over 27km/h on not flat route.
