A major downgradeI bought these, thinking they'd be the same as the Technical Trousers I bought a year ago but they were completely different and a little worse in every way. The design was simpler, using a cheaper-feeling fabric throughout, rather than a differing fabrics for the outer and linings. No zippers on pockets and tighter cut around the thighs mean they're less useful on the bike. They're just over-priced hiking pants now.

Taken cost out of previous generation trousersGood but not as good as old version . Reason is clear - by removing zips from front pockets and changing other details they removed cost from manufacture while maintaining retail cost . Shame. Keep dripping these kind of commercial decisions through the product range and they will kill the brand - hey but maybe they know they are moving downmarket ? Who knows

Returned: If you own the originals don’t buy theseI LOVE the original technical trousers and own several. Purchased these for the new color. SHOCKED by the step down in design and fabric - especially the pockets. The fabric is thin and does not lay well (question how they will hold up). The pockets are no longer sleek with zippers. This new version feels cheap all around. I returned them. Too bad.

Previous version was betterThey had a previous version of these trousers that tapered in at the bottom and had zips on the main pockets. They were just better trousers and I miss those being made.
This doesn’t detract from them being well made and a good pair of trouser / chino just a bit gutted they changed them.

Major step backwardsThe new style is terrible. No zipper pockets, strange fit and sizing. Please bring back the previous version. Not sure what’s happening at Rapha but all of my favorite pieces of kit are getting redesigned, and not in a good way IMHO.

Rapha Jettisons QualityI own 6 pair of these technical pants. I was very disappointed to see Rapha eliminated the zippers on the side and back pockets. What was the point. Very stupid an cheap. I’m very disappointed to note that Rapha is losing its identity. Not the quality I am used to, and definitel loss of style.

Shrinkflation in practice.Thinner fabric, pockets not lined, no zips on side pockets. This is shrinklatiom for sure. The previous model looked more like a pair of chinos. This fabric is different, no as premium. Rapha are definitely saving money in the production process but charging the same price.
It’s a shame I loved the previous trousers. Had two pairs. With the newer model I bought the brown and green, I like the colour. It’s a shame. Please bring back the previous model rapha. It was a perfect pair of trousers!

Is the crotch area reinforced and / or easy to repair?
Asked by: PavelVishniakov
The crotch is made with double weave fabric for long-lasting durability. The trousers are a conventional design and therefore could be repaired, and would also be eligible for our free repairs service.

I would like them with sizing W30 x L32 in brick color. I have put them on my cart the other day. But I see now them on the cart the sizing has been changed. Now it says W30 x L31.5. Why does this happen?

Hello, the leg length on both of these sizes are listed as L and because of this the both will have a 87 cm inseam.
