Excellent if you want casual commuter performance
I bought this looking for a high quality water/wind proof piece and it certainly functions very well in that regard. The quality of materials and construction is superb. The only downside is breathability. My daily commute is a little under 4 miles, each way. In cold, dry conditions, moving at a moderate pace, I'm sweaty at the end. Seeing that it isn't a performance piece, that was to be expected but one can always hope. If you're looking for a high quality and attractive piece of gear for your commute, this is it. If you're searching for something more performance oriented, I would opt for something different. For size reference, I'm 5'11", 145 lbs and a medium fit well but was a little looser than expected.

Super visible, gets the job done
Par for the course for Rapha: high quality, functional (i.e. actually repels rain), great fit. Love the pink color and how visible it is on these dark PNW winter days. It's roomy enough to wear a sweatshirt underneath, or even a shirt and a sweater. Also I tried wearing the hood underneath my helmet on a particularly rainy day and it fit well, without overheating my skull, even with a cap under the hood. Highly recommend this for use on all the colder, rainier, non-lycra-wearing days.

Great for keeping dry and being seen, but...
I live in a wet and sloppy climate. Halifax Nova scotia where the raing comes at you sideways but where bike commuting is the way to go if you want to get somewhere quickly. This jacket keep me seen on the dark damp days.
It keeps the rain out for sure, but the zipper, while it works is a bit small and difficult to "thread". It always takes me a bit longer to suit up than it should because of the zipper but once I'm installed in the jacket all is good.
I like it, I like how it works, and I like the fact that the color can be seen clearly in the grey of the morning.

Commuter Jacket
Got it a month ago, great cut, good fit, nice details. Not as breathable as i would like, but now that the NYC fall is upon us i think it will be a better jacket for my commute then it was a few weeks ago when the weather was still in the 50s/60s.

Not for commuting
This jacket is nothing more than a simple cycling rain jacket. Lack of ventilation. Not ideal for commuting because you sweat like an animal while you ride. For that the core rain jacket is perfect. This jacket is not for commuting or bring an extra shirt with you…

Great fit, stylish and functional
This jacket handles the elements really well. The stretchy-cuff sleeves are a great feature keeping the rain and wind out. It's really water-proof with the water just running off. It's a nice fit: snug enough to reduce wind resistance, whilst roomy enough to layer up with a jumper / hoodie underneath. Reflective details are a nice touch, but if you choose the black one like I did, I wouldn't rely on them to be seen on the roads.

Great value lightweight rain jacket
Overall this is a solid commuting jacket for the price. Fabric quality and finish are excellent. It is light, packable and does a great job against showers on shorter rides. Also there are good features like a longer tail so it doesn’t ride up at the back. In terms of negatives, it could be a more breathable, even on short rides it gets damp inside. Also I find the main zip can be quite stiff. If you are wearing gloves the side pocket zips can be fiddly to use. Also the mechanism for stowing the hood could be better. Even when wrapped the hood flaps around.

Great jacket but...
It's a great jacket but the breathability on even the simple ride is not good at all. Needless to say, I use it for fashion and not function. The only thing missing is BREATHABILITY, otherwise, it's an awesome jacket

Commuter Jacket
I Purchased the Commuter Jacket about a month ago and have been wearing it regularly on my commutes to and from work. The jacket is styled well, nice and minimal, it fits well, I got a size small which is snug enough but I can manage layers underneath, it's bright so keeps me visible on the bike, the two front pockets are perfect for smaller items keys, phone, cash etc. I've only been caught in the rain once, but the jacket did its job and kept me dry. I have noticed that on my rides home when the temperature has risen the jacket can get a little sweaty and I have had to un zip it to get some air circulating. All in all though I think its a great jacket for short commutes, not sure how much use it'll get over the summer when it's warmer, but will be perfect for those dark, wet evenings in winter.

Stylish Commuting Jacket
Small preface: this product need to replace my lovely Pedaled Kanaya. A wonderful everyday jacket destroyed in 5 years of commuting (about 25-30 km a week). I've looked to Rapha Commuter Jacket for a lot of days and finally the summer's sale convinced me to proceed with the purchase.
At first sight, the fabric is less refined than Kanaya but seems to be more waterproof. Wearability is great: 1.85 m 80 kg size M is perfect also with a sweatshirt under. For the moment, I've only used it with mild temperature (about 10-15° C) and it works great. Waiting for colder days (I live in northen Italy). Not so much moisture inside.
Color: I've choose the "burgundy" and it looks very very cool.
Only defect: 2 "normal" pocket on the side, nothing on the back :'(.

Fabulous Waterproof Shell
Bought this to wear as a casual rain jacket - it's fantastic. Love the having pockets, hood is a great shape & size, and the cuffs are a great addition for comfort. Being a 2 ½ layer shell you may feel a bit clammy with bare arms, but other than that it's perfect. Love the additional reflective features on the tail as well, usual for city walking, not just city riding.

Pleased overall
Overall pleased with this jacket. Bought medium, which I wear in almost everything else (my chest is about 40 inches and I am 6 ft tall) but found it a bit baggy so swapped for small, which is fine with two layers underneath. Certainly seems to be properly waterproof, also it is as sweaty as everyone says but fine for a short, not too energetic, commute. Zips are a bit stiff but I think that is because they are proper waterproof zips. Elasticated cuffs are a bit tight when taking it off bit otherwise fine. The pink is very visible.

Unbreathable, intolerable
Agree with what others have said about the complete, and I mean complete lack of breathability. My friends warned me, but my order had already been placed, so thought I'd give it a try anyway.
The first time I wore this on a commute I had to take it 10 mins in, as it quickly got hot. Tried it again while the temp was 3C, being worn over a base layer and the Rapha commuter tee, and I've never sweated so much in a cycling jacket. Arrived at my destination and had to towel dry the inside of this sweatsuit and the layers underneath were finished. Off the bike I found it can get hot and sweaty pretty quickly too.
It does look good, fits well and is generally comfortable, although it tends to stick to body hair which can be annoying if you pull on the jacket (spoiler: you'll pull some hair too). If it weren't for these plus points, I would've given the jacket 1 star, so 2 stars is being generous.
I've now retired this to a casual, off-the bike only jacket. If I could return it I defo would. No way is this designed with cycling in mind. The only 'active' scenario where I can see this being useful is in the gym trying to cut weight.

Well made but exceptionally poor ventilation
Completely agree with the other reviews about the ventilation on this jacket. It is well made and the waterproofness is excellent but the ventilation is non-existent. I have a fairly long commute with a number of climbs and arrive a hot mess due to the lack of ventilation on the jacket - even some under arm zips would make a huge difference.

Affordable rain jacket for cold weather.
The commuter jacket is not very ventilated but in cold weather it does the trick. Given the price and great rain resistance, I still think it’s a good item to have in the bag for tough downpours during the commute (in colder weather)...unlike the higher end gore-Tex clothing, it’s okay to wear the jacket with a backpack.

Nicely constructed
Bought this as a packeable off the bike mac. Well made, blue is deep colour and overall pleased. No ingress of water, windproof, good quality zip, pockets could be deeper and I'd like a rear zip pocket. However, having read reviews, maybe we are asking too much of this little number. Perfectly good as is but I've not ridden it. If I wanted a fab rainproof coat I'd opt for the core or classic rain jkt.
Fit - I'm 40inch chest. Bought M. Fits ok over thermal tshirt and can still squeeze a body warmer underneath.

Next great piece from Rapha
I am happy with this jacket. Very good quality with practical details. Great neon color that keeps me visible in a traffic. Fits well. What I love on Rapha once you find your size it fits you for all models.
This model is most suitable for wet and rainy conditions as it is not so breathable. On the other hand cold wind doesn't have a chance. For longer distance you are sweating more than usual (as it is common for these kinds of jacket).
Waterproof front zipper is difficult to handle by one hand while riding.

Great jacket !
Well made, comfortable, looks great.
I am not a road-racer. I am 5’ 6’’, 165 #, waist 36”,size 42-44 jacket. Based on past experience with sizing for road racers (aerodynamic design), I ordered XXL. Aside from the sleeves being too long (as expected), the jacket fits great.
BRAVO !

Good fit
So far so good. Fits really nicely and stands out well from the usual hi-vis crowd. There could be a few more reflective patches - for example, around the shoulders for when you’re not wearing a backpack or on the wrists to help with signalling. Overall, as ever, a quality jacket.

Nice jacket with caveats
It's a nice jacket. Good design. However, the medium (I got a sale price and no L available) is a bit tight so it will only be a light weather thing--not able to layer. For the best, as I used it and I don't think this is for anything more than light rain conditions.

Great as a cold weather wind break
I have only used this jacket as a windbreak on chilly morning commutes with temperatures just above freezing. I have been very pleased with the performance. I have been riding with lined bib-tights and a T-shirt under the commuter jacket and have been plenty warm.

Really like my commuter jacket. Stylish and extremely functional. Commuted on a few grotty days already and it's kept me dry without fail. Only downside with my jacket is its obviously too nice, as the wife keeps borrowing mine for the school pickups on rainy days!

Great outdoor jacket
So far this is the best rain jacket I have ever owned. The only nagging thing is the zip. Unless you stop riding and use both hands it is kind of difficult to zip and unzip. But can’t complain really after all safety first. Mine is bright orange. Perfect for being visible in traffic especially during those gloomy weather conditions. The cuffs are pretty tight so if you sport a watch you have to reverse the jacket to get it off without damaging it. Not a big issue really. Overall I am extremely pleased.

Keeps you dry & comfortable
I actually bought this for wet weather work. It seals up so well I never get wet. It’s super light weight,it folds up to next to nothing. It breathes well too,no uncomfortable sweat. I’m 6ft & 77kgs. Got a medium but probably could’ve got away with a small.

Needed a commuter jacket to get me to and from the station dry. It does that excellent and it is warm as well. Like my Rapha shirts i bought a size M and it fits like a glove with my 188cm and 75kg. Armlength is long enough. Great piece of clothing !

Commuter Jacket
The Commuter Jacket is what it purports to be. Ample arm length, nice zipper, and overall, well designed. Lightweight, wind proof and no fussiness. Given what other manufacturers price this kind of technical shell, the cost is in line with product.
